South Korea-based SK Gas was founded in 1985 and currently has the largest market share in the domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) market. SK Gas supplies eco-friendly LPG as a raw material for fuel and petrochemical processes.
SK Gas has a facility in Pongyo near Seoul, and Macalloy products were involved in its recent upgrade. The building features the only ‘floating staircase’ of its kind in South Korea, which was designed by Miss Yoon Structures.
Macalloy supplied nearly 2000m of M10 and M16 Stainless tension rods, with forks, turnbuckles and special connection plates at each floor level. We also supplied carbon CHS for strengthening under the stairs.
This is one of the biggest staircase projects we have worked on, and we delivered around £70k of stainless materials which were all air freighted to South Korea within approximately 4 weeks, to meet the tight lead times required by the client.
