At Macalloy, one of the high points of 2021 has been seeing our products feature in one of the world’s biggest showcases of innovation and human excellence.
Dubai Expo 2020 is a global exhibition, held in the UAE from October 2021 to March 2022. Hosting 192 participating nations, the event was originally set to take place in 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The theme for Expo 2020 is ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’ and the event explores all aspects of collaboration between people, countries and cultures and showcases human brilliance and achievement.
A key theme running through the event is sustainability – pursuing our hopes of progress without compromising the needs of future generations.
The Terra Sustainability Pavilion is one of eight ‘special pavilions’ at the event, which offer visitors an immersive experience combining education and entertainment.
The Terra showcases the global projects providing real-life solutions to help preserve our planet for future generations. It explores humankind’s relationship with nature, our obsession with excessive consumerism, and how we can change our everyday choices to reduce our carbon footprint and environmental impact.
Designed by UK-based Grimshaw Architects, the Terra is a completely self-sufficient building, producing its own solar energy and water.
We were delighted to supply seventeen bars of our 56mm stainless steel with fork and lock covers to support the staircase, which is an integral part of the exit/entrance area.
