February 1st marked the occasion of Chinese or Lunar New Year – with 2022 being the year of the Tiger.
Sheffield is fortunate to have a large Chinese population and the University alone attracts approximately 8,000 Chinese students every year.
Sheffield-based New Era Development (UK) Ltd is a property development company which has transformed the area around St Mary’s Gate in Sheffield city centre into a vibrant community, hosting a mix of residential, office and leisure facilities.
The development project started in 2013 and is now complete, offering a new and exciting area for people to work, live and spend time in.
New Era Developments were shortlisted for ‘Outstanding Development of the Year’ in both 2021 and 2022 by Insider Sheffield City Region Awards. This was a prestigious acknowledgement of the outstanding development, often referred to as ‘Sheffield’s China Town’.
Macalloy are delighted to have supplied supporting stainless-steel bars for the development’s outdoor roof area. The bars form part of the architectural aesthetics to complement the modern style of architecture.
