Macalloy Tie Rods / Tension Bars were used within this FIFA World Cup 2010 Stadium.
Macalloy tie rods have been used in the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Macalloy tension rods are used as bracing within the steelwork frame of the tensile roof structure. The use of lightweight tension bars contributed to a lightweight roof system with no internal columns.
The Soccer City Stadium was recently revamped for 2010 FIFA World Cup, the stadium is the largest in Africa with a capacity 94,700.
