Mbombela Stadium, Mbombela 2010

The city of Mbombela is the capital of South Africa’s Mpumalanga province. It was selected as one of the hosting cities for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Soccer Tournament. Mbombela Stadium is a multi -purpose sports facility that was constructed as one of 5 new stadia for the tournament. Four 2010 World Cup Matches took place at the stadium, which has a seating capacity of 43,500.

Macalloy Tension Rods were used as stays to support the roof structure, which is connected to 18 majestic columns that have been designed to look like giraffes due to the stadium being situated close to a nature reserve.
