Centre for World Culture, Dhahran Saudi Arabia

Products used: Stainless steel Tension rods from our 460 + 520 Architectural Tension Structures range.

Background:

A museum, a theatre, and a library are just few of the many venues that are housed within this spectacular structure, which was inaugurated in 2019 by King Abdulaziz.
A rock formation with varying heights and shapes is a striking inspiration for the project’s design, which is extremely stunning.
More than 80,000 square meters are occupied by the building. Following a period of three years during which it had successfully maintained its environmental sustainability, Ithra, as it is known locally, was awarded a LEED gold accreditation in the year 2023.

The purpose of this prominent cultural resource is to provide visitors with a wide variety of cultural experiences. These experiences include an auditorium, a cinema, a library, an exhibition hall, a museum, and an archive.

To mark the 75th anniversary of the Saudi Aramco oil corporation, the King Abdulaziz Centre for World Culture was created. This outstanding piece of architectural design and innovation for Saudi Arabia is for visitors to admire and enjoy and gain further appreciation of the culture of Saudi Arabia.

Macalloy Involvement: Stainless steel Tension rods from our 460 + 520 Architectural Tension Structures range were used inside the building.
