The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, Los Angeles

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is a museum in Los Angeles, California, which is devoted to the history, science, and cultural impact of the film industry.

Constructed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, it is the first large-scale museum of its kind in the United States. It features a unique staircase, which has been specially engineered for this highly seismic location, and has the ability to move in the event of an earthquake!

As part of this exciting project, we were proud to supply the contractor, Plas Tal, with Macalloy 460 Grade carbon steel tension rods – M12, M20, M24, M30, M36.

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures opened its doors on 30th September 2021. To find out more, visit academymuseum.org
