Soccer City Stadium, Johannesburg 2010

First National Bank Stadium, also known as FNB Stadium, Soccer City and The Calabash, is an association football and Rugby Union stadium located in Nasrec, bordering the Soweto area of Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Soccer City Stadium was recently revamped for the FIFA World Cup 2010. The stadium is the largest in Africa with a capacity of 94,700.

Macalloy Tie Rods and Tension Bars were used in the construction of this impressive stadium.

Our tension rods were used as bracing within the steelwork frame of the tensile roof structure. The use of lightweight tension bars contributed to the lightweight roof system which has no internal columns.
