Background: Dubai inaugurated its metro network in 2009, which was the first urban metro network to be established in the Gulf Arab states. Many of the stations on the red and green line have a similar, modern appearance using a curved steel frame structure. Macalloy tension bars provide a lightweight, architectural solution for the wind bracing of these elements.
Macalloy tie rods are used as cross bracing to support the steel shell structure of many of Dubai Metro’s stations.
