The Max Aicher Arena, Inzell, Germany

Background: This world-famous speed skating ring has the capacity to hold 7,000 people and was originally built as an outside, open aired venue. In 2011 the arena was upgraded, and a high-performance glulam roof structure was designed to enclose the arena , in preparation to host the World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships in 2011. The arena has facility for several sports including, skating rink, weight rooms sports hall and a Hockey field.


Macalloy involvement: Tie bars act as bracing in the glulam roof structure.
